Guitarist Joe Carmouche is one of the most popular and in-demand performers on the Houston jazz scene. Twice nominated by The Houston Press for Best Jazz Artist, Joe received an Honorary Gold Record from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his outstanding work in the music industry.
Joe has backed jazz recording artists such as Joe Sample, Kenny Burrell, Kirk Whalum, Najee, Mikki Howard, Everette Harp, and Bobby Lyle.
In 2007, Joe opened Legends Jazz Cafe, featuring the “Best in Live Jazz & Cajun Cuisine”. Legends Jazz Cafe is located at 1004 N. San Jacinto in Downtown Houston.
By day, Joe teaches Music Theory & Guitar at Henry F. MacGregor Elementary, a Music Magnet School in the Houston Independent School District.
